The Ashburton District is made up of several towns including, Ashburton, Methven, Rakaia, Mayfield, Hinds and the Foothills area incorporating Mt.Somers.
Each of these towns is unique in character and history and each brings its differing scenery and special rural small town qualities to the area.
Together they form the very distinctive and beautiful Ashburton District.
