Radio Communication Sales Representative

Newlands, a leading company in Auto Electrical Engineering, Automotive Air Conditioning, Batteries, Loom Manufacturing, Powertools, Automotive Products, and Radio Communications, is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented sales professional. With a strong presence in Ashburton, Rolleston, and Timaru, we are looking for someone to elevate our Radio Communications division and drive its future success. We would prefer this position to be based in Rolleston but would consider being based in Ashburton to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilise market insights to target potential trade customers and grow the Radio Communications division.

  • Engage with customers through a solutions-based sales approach, ensuring their needs are met.

  • Negotiate and close sales deals, maximising opportunities and maintaining customer satisfaction.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with trade clients and consumers.

  • Proactively follow up with customers to ensure ongoing satisfaction and address any queries.

  • Lead the development and execution of sales campaigns to generate leads and promote our products.

  • Represent Newlands at trade shows, conferences, and events to build new business relationships.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in B2B sales, account management, or customer service, ideally within radio communications.

  • Experience with mobile communication technologies.

  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and manage time effectively.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with E-Commerce platforms.

  • Strong communication skills with a passion for new business development.

  • A customer-centric attitude and drive to succeed.

​Sales and Battery Department Vacancy - Timaru

Are you passionate about the automotive industry and have a knack for customer service? Newlands has an exciting opportunity in our busy Sales and Battery department located in Timaru. This role offers a dynamic environment where you’ll assist with a variety of functions, making every day different and rewarding.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional face-to-face customer service and handle inquiries.

  • Maintain stock levels, conduct stock takes, and manage overall stock responsibilities.

  • Procure stock as needed, ensuring timely availability.

  • Collaborate closely with our workshop and service teams.

  • Handle incoming calls, relay information efficiently to the service team, and maintain a professional phone manner.

  • Oversee Inwards Goods/Sales administration, including e-commerce tasks as required.

 

Skills and Experience Desired:

 

  • Experience in the automotive industry is highly advantageous.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced workshop and sales environment.

  • Professional demeaner with a strong work ethic.

  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on delivering top-notch customer service.

  • High level of accuracy and keen attention to detail.

  • Quick thinker with a positive, can-do attitude.

  • Familiarity with Orion/Sam System is a plus, but full training will be provided.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Ability to multitask effectively, both independently and as part of a team.

  • Must hold New Zealand residency or a permanent work visa.

  • Computer diagnostic interpretation and repair on various brands of vehicles

A National Certificate in Automotive Electrical Engineering – NZ based qualification is preferred
